Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Eden Gardens.
Sedgefield village centre can be accessed in around a 5-minute cycle; where a range of shops, restaurants and other facilities can be accessed. You can also get to Newton Aycliffe train station in around 45 minutes by bike and there are a number of cycle storage facilities available, so why not cycle as part of our commute or wider journey?
Many of the local routes are lightly trafficked and are classed as advisory cycle routes by Durham County Council. If you fancy a longer bike ride the National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 1 can be accessed from Beacon Lane, just 160m from Eden Gardens. This route is mostly traffic free to Peterlee in the north and Stockton on Tees to the south.
